Max Schmidt has spent over a decade designing custom garments for thousands of clients. What started as a passion for clothing and craftsmanship became a conviction: that every man deserves clothes that actually fit, made from materials worth keeping.
1701 Bespoke is the result. A studio in Detroit that treats every commission as a collaboration — between the client's vision, the tailor's expertise, and the centuries-long tradition of Neapolitan craft.
Our suits are made near Rome and Naples by craftspeople who have spent their careers mastering this work. Our fabrics come from the finest mills in England and Italy — Loro Piana, Zegna, Dormeuil, Ariston — the same houses that supply the world's great tailors.
